Found by chance, it's a little gem hidden behind Piazza Navona, an independent bookshop with a pub underneath offering drinks, food, other books and live music (we popped in on a Sunday evening and listened to a blues soloist). An authentic unexpected experience, it will become a fixed stop from today onwards.

Independent bookshop in the historic centre, behind Piazza Navona.
Very friendly staff and able to recommend the right book for every occasion.
Downstairs there is a pub, where meetings, events, concerts are organised.
Enter and let yourself be enchanted by that wonderful place that is the Altro Quando.

Found by chance, walking near Piazza Navona. But it wasn't such a "chance", it was the bookshop itself that made us pass there, get closer, and discover, after a joke, the underground pub. Magical place, literally. Beautiful atmosphere, competent, kind and also nice guys (no small quality...). I recommend everyone to be kidnapped by this place for a few hours.

This bar-bookstore combo has the kind of aperitivo you hope to stumble into in Rome. Wine and snacks? Check. Local? Check. Small and eclectic? Check. Bonus: it’s run by an independent bookstore. Everything was superb. We sat outside and people watched while we sipped wine and ate (gluten free!) snacks.
Visit. Peruse. Sip. Enjoy.

A super cool place! Hard-to-find books, and in the basement there's a bar/concert room with built-in reading lights (it can get even cooler!). Very friendly staff, top drinks and a killer atmosphere!
