Porto Salvo In

Ok, perhaps some reviews reference ‘tourist trap, but when you have a group of 8…you’re a bit weary, thirsty and just want to watch the world go by…??? So many other places denied us seating unless we ordered food, so the welcoming hospitality of Porto arranging enough space for us within the prime space overlooking the Piazza, the Fontana di Sant’Andrea and Cathedral of St Andrew turned out to be a stop we enjoyed several times for coffee, gelato and yes, bottle(s) of wine for only 27 Euro. We can't speak to the food, but our experiences there were well worth it!!!

Pistachio ice cream was great for takeaway. Reviews appears to be really bad but thought it was actually quite decent. The prices are a bit high/misleading however.

They have a very welcoming staff and great food. I have a peanut and tree nut allergy and they made me feel safe and took care of me. Ate here three times on my stay in Amalfi. Ciro was an exceptional host. Although I probably spelled his name wrong.

This place had yummy food and a great staff. However, we were not told there was a service fee and a sitting fee per person. It seemed like a scam, especially since they didn’t say anything before hand. When we mentioned it, they took it off of the bill. I had the gnocchi in red sauce and my husband had the octopus pasta special of the day. I found his a little too salty but he enjoyed it and I enjoyed mine. It’s in a beautiful spot just beware of all of the extra fees.

Didn’t try the gelato, but their pasta and sauce is absolutely amazing. This is my second time dining here after 6 years. The food and service were excellent both times. If I travel to Amalfi in the future I’ll definitely be eating here again.

A unique place, overwhelming staff, quality PAYS!!! otherwise stay home and make yourself a nice pasta dish, don't come to Amalfi... The ice cream in the sfogliatella is a real lunch and the flavor of the ice cream is fantastic..
