Poporoya is my go to when it comes to Japanese, and this means at least twice a week. Thanks to the whole team for being the best neighbors and always make sure to host well and for the best quality of food. Made me feel like home every time💕 Deeply grateful

I went to Poporoya many years ago. I'd love to go back, but I notice that it's perhaps lost a bit of the authenticity that distinguished it in Milan's Japanese scene.
The chirashi is still very good, the temaki is okay, the ravioli are delicious, but overall, for those of us who, like me, have been to Japan and found the same vibe here, I get the feeling that it's a bit less than it used to be. Unfortunately, we had a miscommunication regarding the desserts because the mochi was frozen and very hard to eat, and we didn't share them.
The service is good, and the new location is okay, although you basically eat sitting next to the table next to you without any dividers.

A beautiful, historic Japanese restaurant. The hot dishes are very good, but we were a bit disappointed with the sushi. The service was a bit sluggish, as the waiter was at the register when we ordered and forgot two dishes. We found the separate ordering and payment at the register inconvenient, leading to inevitable lines.

In my opinion, after visiting other izakaya, it's overrated for the price. Prices are too high and the quality is average, not top-notch. You can definitely find better in Milan.

The food is amazing, I highly recommend the salmon chirashi poke. The atmosphere and service are nice but not top notch. The place is very small and they make you order before entering the place, so be ready to wait outside for the table. This method is something that I don’t personally like but I feel that works very well for them.
