Shiro Poporoya arrived in Italy in the 1970s, he opened this grocery store in Milan where he offered his typical Japanese preparations when no one in Italy yet knew sushi, today, almost fifty years later, he still offers his iconic chirashi from behind that counter with the same dedication as always.

Excellent food, precise service, quick and in its own fun way, typical environment and different from the usual restaurants.

The place is very cute and there is a really characteristic atmosphere, the only problem is that it is really tiny: the tables for two people would be small even for a single person and when we were there there were also quite a lot of people (despite it being very early for lunch). However, it is equipped with an area with outdoor tables which certainly gains space but loses atmosphere. The food, however, was really delicious, the fish delicious and the recipes authentic, so even though you eat in a bit of a hurry and in a hurry, and even though as soon as you finish the food you are politely sent away, it's still worth it (even reasonably considering the queue that would otherwise be created). Highly recommended to all lovers of Japanese cuisine!!

L’ambiente é confortevole. Ho assaggiato il loro chirashi: é buono si fa mangiare, ma non è wow. Il piatto era già pronto, il riso un po’ sfatto e la qualità del salmone migliorabile.Tuttavia il locale, storico, merita una visita perché si respira aria nipponica.

First sushi spot to open in Milan. Has maintained its authenticity throughout the decades. Great menu offer. Big fan of their chirashi: while in lots of places they give you much rice and little fish, here cannot complain. Good price/ quality ratio.
