The staff is very knowledgeable and courteous, with an uncommon kindness that's hard to find. I've been coming to San Cataldo for several years and have tried several different beaches over the years, especially on the left side of the lighthouse. This is probably the one offering the best value for money. Its strengths are the large, well-spaced umbrellas. It's one of the few stretches of beach in San Cataldo without rocks, making it convenient for families with children. There's a large bar with a pleasant patio and a well-stocked restaurant with good food. Reasonable prices. Cons: The stretch of coastline where the Ponticello is located is very windy, making it uncomfortable on some days. The parking lot is completely unpaved.

We went to Ponticello Lido for dinner, which is served from 8:30 p.m. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. English was easily communicated. The ambiance at sunset was very beautiful and romantic. They had a great wine recommendation, and as a "greeting from the kitchen," they served a fantastic caponata with typical regional bread. For starters, I had spaghetti with mussels and tomatoes. The pasta was definitely homemade and simply superb. Everything was fresh and delicious. My main course was the tuna fillet in a sesame crust with teriyaki sauce and fresh salad. My husband had swordfish with caponata. We highly recommend this restaurant. It's truly a fantastic restaurant all around.
