Ponticello Lido In Lecce

Despite the mixed reviews, I ignored the negative and took a chance. And what a good decision!!! Nice and close from Lecce, wonderfully quiet (Friday in August!) and without reservation a parasol with two beds available for 25 euros per day. Started with a simple lunch (panini with ham and cheese) while there were also plenty of other (hot) dishes on the menu. (We're still Dutch after all 😄) After an afternoon of sunbathing, we wanted a hot meal (too early), but the kitchen was still closed for dinner. It was then suggested that we first have a small snack from the chip shop and then join us for dinner after 8 p.m. Great plan! The snack was already tasty (fried potato in a “chips”-like way) But dinner was absolutely excellent!! The tuna in a sesame seed crust surrounded by grilled vegetables was a joy to see and very tasty! The spaghetti with clams was a surprise for me because I indicated that I did not like mussels and wanted something like tomatoes on the spaghetti. When the owner heard this, he immediately asked me if I didn't like fish at all. It was his suggestion to replace the mussels with the “vongole”. Once again I took the gamble and was once again positively surprised. Excellent beach restaurant with delicious food and very attentive and friendly staff.

Lovely beach, good food at the beach bar, friendly and helpful staff and not so busy and massive, had a wonderful beach day!

An aperitif then a very good dinner in this beach Lido restaurant. The atmosphere, welcome and service were perfect, the spaghetti with mussels delicious!

In data 3 agosto 2024 abbiamo cenato nel ristorante di Lido Ponticello. Eravamo in 4 e l'occasione era il compleanno della ragazza di un mio amico. Non mi dilungherò: i piatti non erano male, specie i primi. Peccato solo per la mancanza di alcuni antipasti e per un servizio a dir poco impacciato nonostante la situazione dei presenti fosse tutto fuorché caotica. Più che altro è stato imbarazzante non aver potuto ordinare alcuni piatti. Voglio dire, era pur sempre sabato... mah. Prezzi peraltro non bassi e addetti lentissimi. Spiace dirlo, ma non credo che tornerei.

On August 3, 2024 we had dinner in the restaurant on Lido Ponticello. There were 4 of us and the occasion was the birthday of my friend's girlfriend. I won't dwell on it: the dishes weren't bad, especially the first courses. Too bad only for the lack of some appetizers and for a service that was awkward to say the least despite the situation of those present being anything but chaotic. More than anything, it was embarrassing not to have been able to order some dishes. I mean, it was still Saturday... meh. However, prices are not low and employees are very slow. Sorry to say, but I don't think I would go back.

Against the clichés of an expensive Salento with poor services. Excellent quality food, cooked with great taste and care, excellent service and an enchanting location by the sea. Absolutely honest and accessible prices. Recommended to anyone

We spent a week on this Lido, I must say that we really enjoyed our time with the friendly staff... The only flaw is that the bar opens at 9.30am to be able to have breakfast but they stay open until 11pm at night, delicious and cheap food

If you are looking for a welcoming environment a few steps from Lecce and facing the sea, you are in the right place. Alessandro will welcome you in the best way, delighting you with tasty, quality dishes. I highly recommend it. to spend very pleasant summer evenings facing the sea, compliments to him and his staff.

The positivity of this beach is, inexplicably, but certainly the tranquility. Few noises, few voices, discreet speakers playing music in the background... Everything flows in total tranquility. Excellent restaurant and bar service and praise for the attentive and attentive staff. The common areas are large and well spaced. The sea, then, is that of Salento... and sorry if it's not much. Everything will improve once the years of work on the dock are completed and if, with a bit of practical common sense, decent access for cars is created and the current one is cleaned up. Advised.
