Pizzeria Traniello In Gaeta

Our go-to place when we're in Gaeta. Excellent pizza and tielle at fair prices, what more can I say? Thanks to the staff.

Pizzeria Traniello is an excellent place to buy pizza by the slice or the typical Gaeta "tielle." The place, modest in size and seating for about twenty people outside, has a well-stocked counter and fairly reasonable prices. Our order included six tiellas with different toppings, a cold pizza slice with tuna, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and mayonnaise, and a 1.5-liter bottle of water, costing precisely €20. Each tiella was better than the last. However, if I had to choose the best, I'd recommend the tiella filled with octopus, cherry tomatoes, and Gaeta olives: simply out of this world.

The gluten-free tiella is fantastic. You need to reserve it the day before, as it's specially prepared with all the necessary precautions. The pizza can also be ordered on the spot with a 15-minute wait. The girls at the counter are extremely courteous and helpful. There's a small covered area outside with tables and chairs for dining. I recommend it to anyone with celiac disease!

The best tiella in Gaeta! I highly recommend the one with cod and onion and the one with octopus.

Celiac Experience Gluten-free pizza is GOOD, but you have to wait 15 to 20 minutes because it's made to order (I recommend ordering in advance by phone so they can set aside the dough). The ingredients for the various toppings can run out, preventing cross-contamination, and you end up with just the classic Margherita. There are tables outside, but they're limited, and sometimes you have to wait for people to leave. Parking is far away, in common paid areas or in blue lines.
