Just inside the historic part of Acquaviva, I highly recommend stopping at Gianfranco. He'll whip up a quick dish of the day straight from the traditional Bari cuisine or an excellent pizza. The portions are generous and the service is always friendly. The spaghetti alla chitarra alla San Giuannid is a real treat.

One of the best Assassins I've ever eaten. Exceptional!

I tried the pasta all'assassina at this trattoria and it was a real surprise: perfectly cooked, perfectly crispy, and with that smoky, slightly spicy flavor that makes this dish unique. The portion was generous and beautifully presented, with just the right amount of charring that distinguishes the true assassina from Bari. The friendly service and family atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try a traditional Apulian dish prepared as it should be.
