Pizzeria Nonna Mary In Lecce

A surprise. This is the first term that came to mind after having dinner at Grandma Mary's. It is a very small place not far from Porta Rudiae but not in the inner city, which is a mix of typical Salento flavors and some interesting innovations. We were a group of 4 people, we booked even though it wasn't the weekend but during the week, but we probably could have gone directly because there weren't a lot of people. As mentioned, the place is quite small, there are not many tables and above all they are not suitable tables for large groups. There are not the classic chairs but benches. We were greeted by a nice lady who was probably the owner. Here you can try a series of typical Salento dishes of the day, visible on a blackboard, which from what I understand change according to the season, and then you can find a huge number of pizzas, which surprised me for a place of these dimensions. We had a starter of "pittule" and potato panzerotti, both good. Then each of us took different pizzas. The service is not very fast, also because I think there is only one person in the kitchen, but if you have a little patience you won't be disappointed. To tell the truth, when my pizza arrived, I wasn't convinced by its appearance, perhaps because unlike usual this time I got a white pizza. Once I tasted it, however, I immediately understood that the choice was right. The flavor was excellent as were the ingredients used which were all fresh. And so it was also for the other 3 people at the table. Prices are truly unbeatable, especially if you take into account that even in Lecce the prices have now increased which make them more and more similar to northern cities.

They recommended this place for pizza, and I have to say that the food is wonderful. The meatballs in sauce are excellent.

A place in authentic Lecce and not the classic tourist trap in the centre. Just outside the centre. Run by 2 exquisite people from times gone by. I ate one of the best pizzas ever with the highest quality ingredients and a very honest bill😍

Amazing Mediterranean Pizza! Unbeatable value for money.

Locale senza tante pretese appena fuori da centro di Lecce. I titolari, due persone cordialissime e gentili. Servizio essenziale ma rapido e attento. Fritto misto con pittule, olive ascolane etc eccezionale e abbondante (porzione per 1 tranquillamente divisibile in 2). Puccia con pane eccellente (una delle più buone di Lecce). Pizza margherita buona. Quello che sorprende è il rapporto qualità prezzo, incredibile. Una pizza margherita, un fritto misto leccese, una puccia crudo e mozzarella con rucola e pomodorini, due coca cola zero è una bottiglia d’acqua a 26,5 euro. Non perdete tempo con molti locali pessimi del centro dove prezzi elevati e qualità scarsa l fanno da padrone. Qui non si sbaglia. Ritorneremo sicuramente

Iets buiten het centrum ligt deze pizzeria. Daarom niet toeristisch wat meestal een goed teken is. Wordt bezocht door de locals. Lekkere pizza’s en genoten van een karaf wijn. Vriendelijke en vlotte bediening door Nonna. En dat alles tegen een schappelijke prijs!
