28/02/2026: Every time my wife and I come to Paestum, amidst the magic of the Temples and the unique atmosphere of Cilento, there's one stop that's become a must: Bistrot73.
This time, too, the experience was simply excellent.
We started with an extraordinary first course: ravioli filled with scampi cream and smoked buffalo butter. An elegant, enveloping dish, where the sweetness of the scampi meets the intense, slightly smoky notes of the buffalo, creating a perfect balance between sea and land. Careful presentation and bold yet harmonious flavors.
For our second course, we chose a magnificent octopus tentacle perched on a velvety potato and spinach puree: impeccably cooked, soft and flavorful, with a perfect contrast between the delicate puree and the texture of the octopus. A dish that demonstrates skill and sensitivity in the kitchen.
And then the house specialty: fried artichoke. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, dry and flavorful to perfection. Simply irresistible.
The service was excellent, with truly top-notch courtesy and attention. I even had the pleasure of meeting the chef to personally compliment him: I found him to be extremely kind, helpful, and passionate—and this passion is clearly evident in the dishes.
The bill was also very positive: absolutely adequate for the quality offered; in fact, I honestly would have expected a little more. Excellent value.
I was also pleased to see the Gambero Rosso restaurant poster, which is certainly no small detail and confirms the restaurant's caliber.
Between the beauty of the Paestum Archaeological Park and a gastronomic experience of this caliber, the day becomes perfect.
I highly recommend it: for us, it's now a certainty, a place we return to time and time again with great pleasure. 🍷✨
