An exceptional place with exceptional staff and exceptional food. One of the few places where excellent Roman cuisine is served without falling into tourism. Tripe, Rigatoni with Pajata, Carbonara, Cacio e pepe are Battle Horses! Beautifully full and delicious dishes. You don't leave the table even when your stomach is full. The pizza is equally good and has varied flavours. Fair and correct prices. The Owner is a kind person, helpful and always ready to try to satisfy the customer; a hard worker with a great affinity with his collaborators. Excellent service accompanied by the friendliness of the waiters who know how to make you laugh in full Roman style... so you feel at home. I would give 6 stars if I could not only for the quality service, but also for the incredible patience that the waiters show with truly very rude customers! I frequent the place very often and it has happened to me (luckily it has rarely happened) to see customers who demand to be served immediately as soon as they arrive (considering that the place is always full...who knows why 🤔), order and speak to the waiters in tones haughty and unpleasant (as if they were the owners of the place) and threatening to leave a bad review. I would have accompanied people like that to the door, but they proved to be professional and also excessively patient. If you want to come to a good place in a historic NON-TOURIST environment and with good local dishes, then leaving the place satisfied and with the desire to return.... This is the place for you. What can I say... Enjoy your meal.

More than honest dishes of Roman cuisine, service to be improved

I have come to eat here several times and every time I felt like I was at home. I ate real Roman dishes, abundant and with excellent quality raw materials. The staff is always friendly, available to accommodate customer requests, professional and smiling. The quality/price ratio is unbeatable, you eat a lot and you spend the right amount. The fried foods are exceptional, not greasy, digestible, special. Tiramisu is what you make at home but even better. The pizza is the classic Roman one full of fresh products and they are always available to vary any ingredient. I will definitely come back with my family!

Excellent restaurant, where you can feel a family atmosphere. A few steps from Sapienza University, it offers a complete service, with typical Roman starters, first and second courses, combined with delicious dishes of the day. Excellent value for money, I've been back several times with my university colleagues, and it will remain our Saturday stop whenever we're in the area. Closed on Sundays, a choice that was not comfortable for us but appreciable and courageous

Simple typical Roman pizza..very kind staff..for me the best pizza..in Rome....always made for years by the same delicious pizza chef..and you find typical Roman cuisine....Pasquale N1 alive!! !!

Real rating 4.8 adjusted for the type of venue. I happen to eat there (very willingly) for lunch, it's a real tavern with few but very tasty dishes. The grilled swordfish is excellent, the chicken with peppers is delicious, and the ossobuco is even better. The courgette flowers are special. But the menu can change, it is written on a large blackboard on the wall. Everything in tavern style, including the service which is fast, kind and attentive. But as in real taverns the tables are close together, and everything is about substance and not style. Average prices, but the quality is higher. Highly recommended.

Good food, but the house wine is to be avoided, a little cramped environment. Overall it's nice but pay attention to the bill: they didn't want to bring the receipt to the table but showed it to us at the cash register with the amount to be paid for each one. We were a table of 13 people, but they divided the total by 11... were they wrong or did they try?!?!.. anyway we noticed. So be careful especially when there are many of you!

The pasta, the deserts, the pizza, are all excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I heavily recommend that you give this place a visit.
