We were at this pizzeria last night. We called at the last minute, there were 9 of us, and they took us in! While we waited for a table, they offered us prosecco and schiacciata! The pizza was delicious, and they served us really quickly! The staff was young, fast, and friendly! The bill was excellent! I'll be back!

Good food, adequate table spacing, target 25-45 year olds, welcoming atmosphere, but the real highlight is the staff. Aside from the fact that they're all good-looking—they're between 20 and 23, I don't think older—they're quick, precise, polite, and friendly. They have an eye for detail, and they know how to respond with kindness and professionalism. Even if the pizza wasn't quite as good, we'd still return. Well done.

We were there last night with 8 people. The pizza was very good, and the young waiters were very kind and fast... I've been there several times already!! I was a little disappointed with the bill, though. They charged me two extra appetizer platters, so I paid for four instead of two. I only noticed this when I got home! So I'll have to be more careful next time!

We visited twice on our holiday because we enjoyed the food so much! It’s delicious, generous portions and excellent value. We had the Tuscan anti pasti, pizza and panna cotta with pistachio cream - the second time we went, we shared two pizzas between four people because the anti pasti is so big! Definitely recommend.

L'Antica Taverna

07/01/2026: A lunch for two in a trattoria in the center of Volterra, chosen by chance while strolling from one museum to another. The place is charming and welcoming, in the typical rustic style of the village's ancient buildings and trattorias. We chose two exceptional first courses: potato gnocchi with Chianina ragù and herb pici with crumbled crouton, followed by a terrine of vegetable soup and a terrine of stewed wild boar with olives. Both were delicious, although for the wild boar, I strongly recommended that the chef use local black olives, either salted or sun-dried, rather than the usual chemically colored pitted olives in brine. Truly a tasteful journey through the flavors of Volterra's cuisine in a warm and harmonious setting that I highly recommend trying if you're passing through Volterra. The only drawback is that the prices are certainly a little above average, and the portions are smaller than you might expect from an osteria.
