Pizzeria Da Michele In Venezia

If you're staying near Mestre Station during your trip to Venice, stop by here. We ordered takeout to enjoy our meal in the comfort of our room, but even though the restaurant is very spacious, there was a long line of locals and tourists around dinnertime. (Those ordering takeout can order first.) I loved that the menu could be changed to Korean, so we were able to choose our food and order to-go with ease. We ordered squid squid with ink pasta and fried calamari, both delicious. They say you should try the regional specialties of Italy, and this place offers a great way to sample regional cuisine while enjoying a wonderful meal amidst the charming interior. They also serve Moretti draft beer, which is a shame we missed it.

The food is great with a fair price, there is a tablet to choose from with photos of the dishes and translations into several languages, a beautiful place, I don't usually give negative reviews, but the service from a waiter named Donald made the restaurant lose all its charm, I chose a dish that wasn't available that day or wasn't available anymore, I don't know (because it was on the menu?) so far so good, I just asked for more time to choose something else, he threw a fit, I went to talk to him and he told me very stupidly that he only spoke Italian or English and I spoke Spanish, otherwise I recommend it.

The food is good, it's plentiful but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is "profitable" and a bit cold.

Nice place near the station and therefore convenient. Parking is difficult, if not impossible, except in a paid parking lot. The staff is friendly, but they don't pay much attention to their customers. Unfortunately, I couldn't have pizza because the dough contains milk and I'm intolerant. So I had a tomato pasta dish, which was plentiful and good. My husband had a sesame capricciosa pizza, which he found to be quite heavy. He drank all day. After clearing the table, no one asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. We asked for the bill at the table and waited 15 minutes until the chef, who was watching us because the kitchen is open with glass windows, came out and told us to bring us the bill. He was very polite, but he didn't care about the local customer, especially when tourists were passing through.

Its great that this restaurant was open till 11pm. Lots of people still coming in, probably same situation as us when we just flew in from Venice airport but de ided to stay in the area so we can be close to the train station before going to Dorsoduro the following day. We love the atmosphere and food in this restaurant. We tried pizza capricciosa, spaghetti carbonara and penne ragu. All portions are for sharing esp the carbonara. I was suprised to be given a pan, that can feed 3-4 people.
