I grew up in Primavalle, right in front of Pizza al Mattone. I'm now 32, and the pizzeria is an institution. Gianni's experience is unparalleled, and it shows: his stuffed pizza is reminiscent of the Roman pizza we used to eat when we were kids...those who live in Rome can only agree! The white pizza is crunchy, filled with quality ingredients, and perfectly flavorful. An incredible pizza in its simplicity! Try it to believe it. Highly recommended.

Simply exceptional pizza. They only serve topped white pizza, and they do it exceptionally well. Tasty and crunchy, with a variety of toppings. The surimi one is famous (and very good). I went there around lunchtime and it was almost sold out; you have to go in the morning if you want a wider selection.

Historic, legendary, indestructible Gianni. The crispiness and authenticity of the dough are undeniable. Only white and stuffed pizzas of indescribable quality. A neighborhood institution. The legendary pizza with unique and inimitable crabmeat. You can't have lived through Gianni's era and not tried his legendary pizza at least once. Great sacrifice and dedication. Thank you Gianni.

It's a takeout pizzeria. They mainly make stuffed pizzas. I hadn't been there for a long time. I went back recently and bought the crab claw-filled pizza and the shrimp one. The pizza dough is very crispy. In short, two options that taste just as good as they did years ago. I recommend it to anyone who likes stuffed pizza.

07/02/2026: Amazing atmosphere, delicious pizza, and smiling staff. It's busy, but that's because there's a reason to come back. For two pizzas and three large pierrone, we paid €31, leaving full and satisfied 😍 Thank you and we recommend it!

15/02/2026: The location and price exceeded our expectations. Being a seafood restaurant with rather high prices, we expected not only good cuisine but also an atmosphere commensurate with the cost of the experience. In the end, we found ourselves paying Michelin-starred prices, but without experiencing an equally refined atmosphere.
26/01/2026: My wife and I had dinner on Friday evening. The food was excellent, the raw fish was incredibly fresh, the staff were very friendly, the place was welcoming... we ate really well and had a great time. The owner is a nice and very sociable person. The only flaw was finding the focaccia on the bill. It's not worth the €4, per se. But it's a gesture that doesn't exist in restaurants. If you offer a "welcome" focaccia without anyone ordering it, and then you don't have to charge the customer, a nice gesture turns into a terrible one. And it's a great shame, because it's a gesture that makes me not want to return to this restaurant, which deserves it for its cuisine and fresh food. I hope they realize this gross error and can fix it. If you don't mind paying for something you don't order (it's a €4 focaccia, I repeat, it's not the €4 on a bill like the one I paid that makes the difference, it's the gesture that's terrible) go because the food is really good.
