Nice, welcoming place. Service wasn't impeccable. A waiter first dropped a bottle on the table, then, while trying to collect a plate, dropped the remainder on a diner's foot, and then pretended nothing had happened. Things can happen, but at least apologize. Finally, the bill was a receipt with the total due, without the order details. The pizzas were very good, although the gourmet one (the one in the photo), despite being full of delicious local ingredients, seemed a bit off overall. Personal taste.

I gave the food a 3 because I didn't like the pizza. The dough was dark. We asked the waiter, and he said it was whole wheat. This wasn't specified on the menu, and they should have pointed it out when ordering. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Excellent pizza, even gluten-free

I visited this "as I like to call it" seafood trattoria during a weekend in Casal Velino. Let's start with the place, which is truly a tasteful blast from the past. Among the wooden beams, nets, and all the typical fisherman's paraphernalia that adorn this place, you immediately get the sense of being in a place where the sea is well-known and deeply experienced. Indeed, the owner Camillo also runs a fishing boat, which supplies his kitchen. The ingredients are there, fresh, and you can taste them. Over the two days I went for lunch, I had the opportunity to sample various seafood-based dishes, including: seafood salad with perfectly cooked octopus, mussels with pepper, fried shrimp, calamari, and anchovies, but above all, two dishes that did not disappoint my expectations and which I returned clean because I finished with a generous mopping up of the fish: Spaghetti and clams one day and spaghetti with lupini beans, mussels, and clams the other. Truly delicious and beautiful to look at, with generous portions. There's no gourmet, no reinterpretation; you eat seafood in its simplicity. Why did I give it 4 stars? Because I didn't have the chance to try the mixed grill, but I did see it served generously on wooden boards, and the pizza, always made by Camillo. However, I did eat the bread he makes, too. The typical Cilento bread, served warm in slices, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and aromatic herbs, is delicious. If you like that kind of bread, you'll eat baskets of it. Assisting Camillo is his wife, Rosa, who takes care of the dining room and is always careful to ensure nothing is missing, including cutlery and drinks. Tip: As with all restaurants, usually on weekends and especially in the evenings, reservations are highly recommended! Both to secure a table, to always have your favorite seafood dish, and to be sure of the quality of the seafood, since, as mentioned above, Camillo himself provides the catch. I'll be back for the mixed grill and pizza, which will allow me to award it a 5-star rating. Prices are reasonable, considering I've always eaten fish; in fact, perhaps a little less than its competitors on the waterfront.

The ambiance is simple, but on a warm summer evening, the garden is the perfect place for dinner. The use of local produce is noteworthy, and the artichokes from the Paestum plain are delicious. The service is friendly, unpretentious, and impeccable.

The food is excellent, the pizza is also excellent.
