Pizzeria Canossa City In Amantea

I ate at this pizzeria with my family, choosing based on the reviews I'd read. I'll start by saying that I'm a restaurateur, and to be honest, I found everything very 1970s. 1. Poor customer service. Two swinging beachfront garden tables that barely fit a pizza plate. 3 When the waiter clears the dirty plate between courses, he advises us to keep our forks (perhaps they're short on utensils). 4 I read reviews of high-quality products (the porcini mushrooms on my pizza tasted watery and bad, and since when do you inform them that speck becomes extremely salty and inedible?) 4 I also noticed that the waiters serving the tables help the pizza chef to top the pizzas behind the cashier's back, all in front of the customer who pays the bill. 5 We asked for the bill, and the cashier even showed up with her mouth full and still eating. LASTLY, I HEARD THAT THEY CAN EVEN HANDLE 400-500 people IN AUGUST. Given the location, in the center of Amantea, it's certainly possible, but it would be appropriate to improve. All this to give dignity to the CALABRESE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY. Sorry for the outburst, but we can and must do better, especially in 2025.

Excellent light and delicious pizza

I'm on holiday in Amantea, they recommended this pizzeria to me... I was there last night and it really is the best, from the appetizers to the pizzas.... Congratulations 👌

Like last year we started out vacation with a pizza at Canossa and where a bit disappointed with the pizza Pistacciosa. The pancetta was very salty and somehow did not taste as good but the one with walnuts was just perfect. Still a nice evening with a very nice staff and a lovely location

La Canossa is a guarantee for its excellent pizza. The owner, Giuseppe, is extremely kind and welcoming. We celebrated my husband's birthday here and had a wonderful time. We recommend this pizzeria to everyone!

100% praise! We went for dinner in mid-August. Suitable for families, groups, and couples of all ages. The pizzas we chose were wonderfully good, especially the mozzarella, onion, potato, and pepper, which, as a lover of onions and vegetables, blew my mind. We personally passed on the compliments to the pizza chef. The prices, considering it's just one pizza, might seem high, but it's worth it. The service was prompt, even considering the tables were all full. The pizzas were good, the beer was good, the service was good—in short, we'll definitely return if we're in Amantea!

Dopo una rilassante passeggiata sul lungomare di Amantea, luogo ricco di fascino e storia, siamo approdati alla Pizzeria Canossa City, un locale dal carattere semplice e autentico nel cuore del paese. Appena entrati, ci ha colpito l’atmosfera calda e accogliente. Il personale, sempre sorridente, ci ha messi subito a nostro agio presentandoci il menù. La pizza Ortolana si è rivelata un perfetto connubio di verdure grigliate – zucchine, melanzane e peperoni – adagiate su una base di pomodoro fresco: l’impasto, ben lievitato e cotto nel forno a legna, presentava un cornicione scarso ma croccante, lievemente bruciacchiato al punto giusto. Il sapore delle verdure è rimasto vivo e asciutto, mantenendo intatta la loro freschezza. Con la Capricciosa abbiamo assaporato un mix classico e rassicurante: funghi, carciofi, olive verdi e prosciutto cotto, tutti ingredienti di prima scelta. L’armonia tra il dolce del pomodoro e il leggero salato del prosciutto ha reso ogni boccone pieno e ben bilanciato. Per accompagnare le pizze, abbiamo scelto una bottiglia di acqua naturale e una Coca-Cola, ideali per rinfrescare il palato senza appesantire. Il conto è risultato adeguato alla qualità delle materie prime e alla genuina lavorazione artigianale: un ottimo compromesso tra gusto e prezzo. In conclusione, la Pizzeria Canossa City si conferma un indirizzo di fiducia per chi desidera una pizza autentica in un contesto informale, perfetta dopo una giornata al mare o per una serata tra amici.
