Pizzeria Avalon In Bolsena

Excellent restaurant/pizzeria in Bolsena, in the province of Viterbo. The place is truly charming, a mix between an Irish pub and a medieval pub, but surprisingly, they also do pizza. The tap list is fairly basic, but the beers are well-tasted. They also have Guinness, which is a plus. Now let's talk about the food: the pizza is gigantic and incredibly good, with excellent ingredients and a very light dough (though the pizza was anything but light, given the heavy toppings). The staff is friendly and the prices are fair.

The best pizza in Bolsena. Very thin crust with fresh toppings. The desserts are also homemade and very tasty. The ambiance is terrible, but the food is very, very good. Unfortunately, there's no Italian beer; we had the choice between Belgian or Irish beer. Be sure to make a reservation; it's always full and frequented by many locals.

The pizza wasn't great. The pasta was worse. The service was good, the place was very nice. The desserts were very good. There was a large parking lot for 8 of us, and we spent €176 for appetizers, pizza, and dessert.

A very simple place, with good food, nothing exceptional. A great place to spend a quiet evening without high expectations, in a very quiet area outside the city center...

Excellent Roman-style pizza (thin dough, thin crust), very light and easy to digest.
