For work, I often travel to different cities and countries, eating out far more often than I'd like.
Precisely for this reason, I don't get excited easily.
This pizza in Genoa, however, is already the second time I've had it, and I can say without a doubt:
it's one of the best I've ever eaten.
There are places you can rave about, and others you can only recommend by saying, "Try it, then you'll understand."
This is one of those.
I don't have much else to add, except that I can't wait to return, book a table, and try the food, because if the quality is this high... it's truly worth it.
Update!
I continued to order pizza, but tonight I tried the seafood pasta...the best, and the guys are always top notch too.

If you want to try real Italian food this is the place. The waiter (Beatriz) was so warm and welcoming inviting you to have the best time while you are i. The restaurant. Try to sit outside (in the plaza) since the restaurant is quite small inside.

There were eight of us, and we had an excellent experience in every respect. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and offered great advice. The food was also outstanding—many of us even ordered a second main course. The large portion of pasta was so huge that it was served on a pizza plate.
If I ever find myself in Genoa again, I will definitely come back!

A reasonably priced restaurant, I'd say just pizza and pasta, little else, both also available with gluten-free options. A cozy and well-kept restaurant, in the summer you can also eat outside in the small square. A wide selection of pizzas, but the pasta menu is a bit short.

Pizza & Pasta is the kind of place that reminds you why simple, well-made Italian food is unbeatable. From the moment the pizza arrives, you can tell you’re in for something special - the aroma, the look of the crust, and the quality of the ingredients all stand out immediately.
Amongst others, the Johnny pizza is hands down the star and quite honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust is perfectly baked with that ideal balance of crisp on the outside and soft, airy inside. The toppings are generous without being overwhelming, and every bite is packed with flavor. Nothing feels heavy or greasy - just perfectly balanced, authentic, and incredibly satisfying.
Beyond the pizza, the overall experience is excellent. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is friendly and attentive, and everything feels genuinely Italian rather than forced or touristy. It’s clear that a lot of pride and passion go into the food here.
If you’re a pizza lover, this place is a must. I’ll be coming back specifically for the Johnny pizza - and recommending it to everyone I know.
