A restaurant with the soul of a diner, the food is decent but not exceptional; I don't think anything is homemade. The decor is truly diner-like, the owner, I presume, is very friendly, but the waitresses are inexperienced and inattentive. Prices for first and second courses are good, but the platter is overpriced. The restrooms also need updating; they're dated and poorly heated. I didn't have a bad experience, but I won't be returning.

11/12/2025: Antica Osteria di Niviano was a top choice for us. The staff was very kind, attentive, and helpful. We had two small children with us, and they were kind enough to prioritize their dishes so they could eat right away. Excellent food, the appetizer with Piacenza cured meats was delicious, the first courses were fabulous, and the meat was excellent.

19/09/2025: I was surprised by the place; it's charming, especially with its historic ceiling and staircase. Perhaps the decor could use a refresh, but what really matters is the food: out of this world, you can taste the quality, perfectly cooked, and absolutely mouthwatering! The prices are more than fair (€30 for two, including two first courses and a second course) and the portions are generous. I'll definitely be back!
11/09/2025: A must-try, the owner is friendly, and the chef, Simone, is top-notch. Traditional and local dishes with innovative twists. The wild boar with chickpea hummus is spectacular, along with fried porcini mushrooms with a wild garlic sauce. And to finish, the must made with una frambors... it evokes all the flavors and memories of childhood. You have to go and try it. It's worth it at least once, and there's plenty of space between tables. It's also suitable for parties.
