Magnificent square just steps from the Ducal Palace in medieval Mantua. Romantic and intimate outdoor location. The staff is very professional, and the service is quick and attentive. The first courses are very good, but the second courses lack character.
The prices are appropriate for the location.

I came here because I was drawn by the good reviews. The service was friendly, the location was nice in the square, but I'm sorry to say the dishes weren't up to par for the price. The macaroni with donkey stew didn't even have a single piece of meat in the sauce, just a sour, flavorful tomato sauce (it tasted like the sauce left over from cooking the meat). The pumpkin and gorgonzola risotto was overcooked, and the pumpkin was nonexistent, completely overpowered by the gorgonzola. The pumpkin tortelli were a bit tough, but the filling was good. I'm sorry to say, but I wouldn't return.

We decided to have dinner at this typical osteria in Mantua. It's a beautiful location, and given the nice weather, we dined outside! The service was excellent, courteous, and very attentive to the customer's needs! The pumpkin and gorgonzola risotto was delicious, as was the stew with polenta! The Apulian version of the menu was also good! Excellent price, highly recommended.

Ambience, food, service, price—everything was excellent. The fact that the poorer reviews are being liked and marked as helpful can only be a ploy by the competition.
We sat outside, had the spaghetti with seafood and the house wine, and were full and happy.
