Pescepane In Firenze

Our first meal in Florence. We chose ravioli with cod and pasta with clams. Not too terribly friendly but a good place for a casual and healthy lunch.

Excellent fish restaurant a stone's throw from the Sant'Ambrogio market and the church of the same name, in good weather it is possible to eat outside. Wide choice of wines with the possibility of having it in bulk. The only small note is that the oil served at the tables for seasoning comes from oils from the European community, considering that Tuscany produces excellent quality oil........

Dined at Pescepane for Christmas Eve dinner. Small but very quaint and welcoming place. Staff really kind and friendly. We ordered as a starter a soup of the day (very good) and some octopus meatballs (the percentage of bread compared to that of octopus was too unbalanced but these were also good) Followed as a first course by homemade gnocchi with red prawn bisque and their pulp, truly remarkable. Little guitar with lupins. As a second course we shared an excellent fried fish. Fry the batter dry and light. Easygoing but attentive and friendly service throughout the service. Account perfectly in line with what is consumed and the quality of the raw materials and how they were transformed. I personally complimented the chef, as it was also a special evening and with the place full, all the courses came out on time. Advised! Well done!

Excellent food, especially the paccheri alla trabacollara and the cooked apple dessert. Friendly managers and fast service. Cozy and well furnished room. Fair price. To return.

La Cucina di Pescepane. This is a seafood restaurant. I ordered shrimp gnocchi and red octopus potato dishes. Shrimp gnocchi is gnocchi made with minced shrimp and sauce. The texture of the minced shrimp was good, but the taste of the homemade gnocchi did not live up to my expectations. The gnocchi itself tasted a bit like porridge. And it was more seasoned than I expected, so I sprinkled salt on it. Since it had a light taste with the weight of seafood, I thought it would be a good idea to add a little acidity. In the red octopus potato dish, the octopus was cooked very gently and well. The doneness of the potatoes was also good. Personally, I think it would have been better if there had been some sauce to go with it. The staff was friendly and, above all, I felt like the restaurant interior was faithful to the theme of being a seafood restaurant. I like the color and other interior materials.
