The best carbonara I’ve ever had in Rome!
My cousin and niece were visiting from the States and wanted to try some “authentic Italian pasta”, but the time was a bit early for dinner so I brought them here. I was a bit hesitant at first (I live nearby and often see this lovely place packed with tourists) but it turned out to be a fantastic choice! They were delighted with everything, and I think I’ve finally found my go-to spot for carbonara (the spritz is wonderful too).
My cousin also mentioned several times how much she appreciated that the staff let us eat and chat at our own pace without constantly checking in, something she said is quite rare back home. So, safe to say, she definitely got her authentic Italian experience!

Such a cozy place, good food and very nice staff. We were at this place with our one year old and they were so cute with her. Five out of five!

Kid friendly - has high chair available. Clean inside and has a bathroom. Lattes and Italian noodles were good! Great place to stop for lunch after the Vatican on the way back to the train. Staff can speak a little English. You can request food to-go and they will put into to-go containers. Best carbonara I’ve ever had - so tasty and good prices.

Sadly this was the worst place we ate all weekend. Although the place had a nice atmosphere, it was definitely a place that served, rather than cooked food. The maritozzo cod fish starter was wrong on many levels, the bun too sweet and the cod fish unseasoned. The carbonaro also arrived split, which I’m sure is an actual crime in Italy?? We didn’t hang around for dessert as we ended up at Cresci around the corner, a far better place to eat.

In die allgemeine Begeisterung stimme ich gerne ein. So stellt man sich ein sehr gutes Bistro vor, zumal in einer Stadt, die von Touristen so überrannt wird wie Rom, in einer geradezu optimalen Lage für alle Besuche in San Pietro, und zu Zeiten, die sowohl vor wie auch nach diesen Besuchen liegen können. Die Küche ist auch bei kulinarisch hohem Anspruch ausgezeichnet. Von beispielhafter Qualität ist auch die perfekt gestaltete Weinkarte. Allerdings sind die dort verlangten Preise nicht angemessen. Wo eine vorbildliche Küche so fair zu kalkulieren weiss, sollten auch die Preise der Weine massvoll sein, zumal der regionalen.
