The setting is beautiful and welcoming, and the service, at least on non-holiday weekday evenings, is certainly excellent. Some concerns about the "assassina" cooking method.

We went to Peperone in the city and I have to say it was a truly pleasant experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is kind and helpful. I chose the pizza by the slice and it was a real surprise: light and crispy dough, fresh, quality ingredients, a perfect balance of flavors. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! Highly recommended for anyone looking for an excellent pizzeria in the city.

Work dinner with colleagues. Among the best pizzas I've ever eaten in Puglia. And coming from Campania, I'm a huge compliment to Rino, the owner, and his staff. Well done!

09/11/2025: Regional cuisine with locally sourced products. Tradition combined with creativity, excellent ingredients, and expert craftsmanship are the ingredients of this restaurant, which is unpretentious but never predictable. A very pleasant atmosphere and prompt service guarantee an excellent dining experience. The wine selection also matches the food. Today we had an appetizer featuring a carpaccio of cardoncelli mushrooms picked that day with truffles, along with cheeses from local producers, truly delicious. The lasagna with pumpkin, mozzarella, and local blue cheese was delicious. Off the menu, I was offered a rib-eye steak from our local donkey, which was simply divine. All washed down with Nero di Troia. Highly recommended. In the end, you get what you pay for, or perhaps even less.
17/09/2025: Worth a try, beautiful location, fresh air and quality products, wood-fired oven, welcoming and friendly owner and staff.
