In a touristy place in Firenze I was almost desperate to find something authentic to eat. With our luck we came across this small but nice restaurant. As a chef and a guest, I have to praise the delicious food at the same time.
The owner in service was very accommodating, nice and very funny. I really enjoyed watching him at work. At the end of the evening he offered us a limoncello at a very fair price (compared to the average in Firenze) with which we toasted with him.
If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back. 10/10

Adorable boss (with whom we drank a limoncelo offered by the house) and succulent home cooking: 4 dishes all tasty with exceptional mention for the lasagna, the truffle ravioli and the pasta with garlic/tomato sauce. The desserts were also very good for a very reasonable price. We made it our evening restaurant during our stay and we were never disappointed. I recommend 2000%

After reading some other reviews, I knew we had to have dinner here while in Florence. It lived up to my expectations and more! It is a family run little traditional trattoria, away from the crowds and bustle and you really get a sense that you are welcomed as if you are family. The owner, Fabrizio, is so friendly and humble, we had a lovely chat as we were paying the bill. The food itself is amazing! We had the prosciutto e burrata for a starter, packed with so much prosciutto! Had to have the lasagna after reading all the rave reviews, and yes, it is one of the most amazing lasagnas you will ever have! The Chianti by the glass is excellent too! Loved this little gem of a trattoria so much and we will definitely be back any time we are in beautiful Florence again!

Me and my partner loved this place. It's quite a small restaurant and there is a handful of staff so we had to wait for a table but it was worth the wait. We had the osso buco and ragu which were lovely. The owner gave us lots of free limoncello at the end of the meal and chatted with us while they closed the restaurant. Very homely vibes ☺️

After not being able to get into two restaurants in Florence, my wife and I stumbled across Pensavo Peggio, we wish we went here straight away. The food was amazing and well priced. My wife couldn’t finish the meal so we asked if we could take it back to our hotel. The owner Fabrizio left the restaurant to get a container as they didn’t have any. Couldn’t get that service anywhere else. Can’t rate it high enough. A must visit!

This was the best meal we have had in Italy. The Cacio e pepe was cooked perfectly, we also enjoyed the lasagna and sliced steak with Parmesan. The waiter was friendly and provided great service. We didn’t have a reservation, arrived a few minutes after opening. We are so glad we found this restaurant.

Nella Vita ognuno di noi ha le proprie certezze ed i propri "luoghi del Cuore".
In questo caso per me queste due cose a Firenze hanno un solo nome: Pensavo Peggio.
Ancora una volta sono riuscito ad andare con la mia Famigliola a rompere le scatole al buon Frabrizio e gentile consorte che, come da manuale, ci hanno accolto come se fossimo loro familiari.
Il feeling che emana questo locale è impossibile da mettere in parole su schermo: bisogna entrare, salutare, sedersi e godersi tutto, dalla calda atmosfera al fantastico cibo e ai beveraggi mai fuori luogo.
Magari dal di fuori Pensavo Peggio potrebbe sembrare il solito specchietto per allodole per turisti fessacchiotti: non è così.
Dentro si respira pura toscanità e si mangia così divinamente che se qualcuno non ti porta via a forza...rischieresti di ordinare tutto il menù e finire in ospedale per indigestione!
Senza parole i loro Pici all'Aglione, senza respiro le loro Lasagne, infinite le loro (vere, non tarocche) Fiorentine.
Ma certo non puoi non cominciare con un tagliere così toscano, ma così toscano che appena lo finisci cominci a urlare "Ohi bischerooooo!" alla prima persona che ti passa davanti.
Insomma: Firenze per me vuol dire Pensavo Peggio e, non pensate che io stia millantando qualcosa, ormai non so più se decido di andare a Firenze per portare le mie Pesti a vedere certe opere incantate e certi luoghi affascinanti o per strafogarci tutti allegramente in questo locale.
Grazie, grazie di tutto il cuore, Fabrizio e Gabriella, per la calda accoglienza e per la (solita) ospitalità che non mancherò mai di ricordare.

This was probably one of the greatest meals of my life! It’s a small restaurant on one of the back streets in Florence but don’t be put off. The food is divine. You can always tell when food is good because the conversation stops and silence descends as you savour every morsel. It’s run by a husband and wife team who were friendly and efficient. Visit it if you can! Beef stew to die for!
