Here is a very good and detailed review of the Paulser Hof – one of the most traditional culinary destinations in Sankt Pauls/Eppan, South Tyrol (Italy):
⸻
⭐️ Paulser Hof in Sankt Pauls
In the heart of the charming wine village of Sankt Pauls – a picturesque village in the Überetsch wine region of South Tyrol – lies the Paulser Hof, a traditional inn and restaurant that delights gourmets from all over the world.
🍷 Atmosphere & History
The Paulser Hof is far more than just a "simple inn" – it's a testament to South Tyrolean hospitality. For over 60 years, locals and tourists alike have gathered here to enjoy traditional Alpine cuisine and excellent local wines. The premises exude a cozy warmth: rustic wooden elements meet classic inn elegance, creating an inviting yet stylish atmosphere. The historic 14th-century wine cellar lends the Paulser Hof a very special charm.
🍽️ Culinary Delights – Tradition Meets Refinement
The cuisine at the Paulser Hof combines hearty Tyrolean specialties with Mediterranean and seasonal influences. Classics such as speck dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen (filled pasta), savory meat dishes, game specialties, and homemade desserts delight with their authentic flavor and careful preparation using fresh, regional ingredients.
Many guests particularly appreciate the outstanding game dishes, which reflect the passion and experience of the hostess. The impressive selection of South Tyrolean wines perfectly complements the cuisine – from elegant whites to robust reds – ideally paired with each dish.
🏁 Conclusion

A nice place, certainly traditional, with a very retro but overall pleasant atmosphere. The food is quite good, without any particular surprises. However, there's a certain difference in treatment towards "foreign" customers, which is a bit puzzling. Prices are decidedly high for what's on offer.

Great German restaurant in the village of St Paul. The waitstaff spoke English but the menu was only in German. With Google Translate that was no problem and the food was incredible. Try the tagliatelle with venison Rafi and goulash. Incredible. One of our best meals in Italy.

Characterful place, very good food, apart from the fact that they got my daughter's dish wrong, everything was fine, prices were normal.

We went to the restaurant for dinner. The decor wasn't my taste. The food was different, but it was great. The service was good too.

The traditional dishes are delicious and come in generous portions. I'd recommend accompanying the strudel (excellent) with a dollop of cream.
The waiter serving the table was very courteous and friendly.

We were passing through and decided to get a table without a reservation. We had a spaghetti ragù as an appetizer, a venison stew with liver as a main course, and a dessert of affogato coffee and apple strudel. Everything was excellent, from the service to the food. Highly recommended! And thanks for the excellent wine recommendation!
