There are many things in life that I don't understand and probably never will; but if for the most part I am referring to existential questions, it very rarely happens to me that this also happens to me for very earthly questions. This is one of those cases. When I turn to the Ambrosia pastry shop, many questions come to mind. Why have I never heard of this before? Why are there so few reviews online about this place? Why, if I simply write "Piacenza brioches" on Google, does it appear extremely low among the results? But above all, why aren't there enough photographs capable of testifying to all the beauty of both the place itself and the desserts it produces? Many questions that will probably not have an answer, also because I could have easily asked them to the staff, but I preferred to lose myself in a silent tasting but particularly felt by all my senses. The croissants are the way I prefer them, that is, with French dough. And what a pastry: crunchy, crumbly and buttery at the right point. This becomes, hands down, one of the few croissants truly worthy of the name in Piacenza. I really appreciated the fact that I filled them on the spot and from the base, rather than from above, as usually happens. In this way the filling is also better distributed, as well as being very generous in the case of this pastry. The cream is simply divine. It is always an immense joy for me to see it dotted with so many dots of vanilla, a detail that is not at all obvious when it comes to desserts. We were so satisfied with our breakfast that we wanted to take home a tray of mignon and the last of the products to pair with the milk we hadn't yet tried. The swirl with hazelnut and peanut cream is a real flavor bomb. A perfect way to have a breakfast that is different from the standard, but equally delicious. What can we say, then, about the pastries: one better than the other. Also trying their eggnog and caramel crowned and worthily concluded our new confectionery discovery. The lady who served us was very kind and attentive to our every request. A perfect further indulgence to combine with the sweetness of the morning meal. It's been a long time since Piacenza surprised me so positively when it comes to desserts. If this review of mine can arouse even just one person's curiosity to give this apparently unknown pastry shop a chance, I will be completely satisfied. I already can't wait to go back to try other mignon it has to offer.

On a festive evening awaiting Christmas we delighted in panettone, coffee and maron glacè. What can I say! Amazing! Light, soft with an enveloping flavour. We want to try the rest soon too
