Pasticceria Spinella In Catania

The negative reviews are extremely exaggerated. I loved the staff here, very friendly and courteous service despite me speaking little Italian. The pistachio cornetto the best I found within the city core. Excellent granita also. Recommended!

Very good pasticerria at reasonable prices, as indicated by the presence of many locals. Wide selection of sweet and savory dishes, as well as excellent ice cream.

The food was delicious, especially the arancini, but the real standout was the waiters, who were incredibly friendly, especially the bald man (sorry to read that, but I didn't know his name). 100 points!!!! We'll be back!

An experience in the heart of Catania to forget. At Spinella, I kept wondering what happened to the legendary hospitality and kindness of the Sicilians. Despite the delicious Sicilian cannoli and good coffee—and I imagine the other dishes were good as well—the service was something to be erased from my memory. Not one, but both waiters who served us were rude, and in their rush, they threw plates all over the table, not to mention queue management! The moment of paying the bill was embarrassing. I don't know if the quality of the food is worth putting up with such treatment, but I'll definitely never set foot in this place again.

What can I say? We stopped at this pastry shop to try the Sicilian granita and brioche. I'd say we chose well. The staff were very polite, clean and friendly, not to mention the excellent desserts.

We bought 2 brioche with grenita. 1 lemon and 1 strawberry. They were very tasty, sweet brioche and the grenita was cold and fruity. Staff were nice but it was super busy so quite chaotic.

Delicious products, everything good. The only downside? The service, especially a waiter who works there who served us just this morning, says he's from Palermo. He made me look bad. While my husband was inside to pay, my kids and I got up to go to the car and he shouted at me along with all the customers, "The bill needs to be paid!" It's not like that! Rude from the start!

Manos abajo, EL MEJOR arancinu ragu que he probado. Mucho mejor que Savia de al lado, y mejor servicio. Sin duda volveré por más antes de salir de Catania. Bravo!

Caffè pasticceria storico e gettonatissimo in città. Da turista che lo visito per la prima volta ho l’impressione che col tempo e soprattutto a causa della folla che lo frequenta il livello di servizio e qualità si sia un po‘ abbassato rispetto a un tempo e soprattutto a quanto viene decantato. Sicuramente però la posizione è strategica, la gamma di prodotti e l’orario ampio sono una sicurezza, e quindi resta solidamente un punto di riferimento nella movida cittadina. Io provo una cassatina con ricotta, un cannolo sempre con ricotta, un cappuccino e una caffè americano: qualità discreta ma non eccelsa, ne ho mangiati e bevuti di migliori. Il servizio è però cortese e non ho notato in conto addebiti specifici per il coperto. In ogni caso sedersi e consumare in uno dei tanti tavolini lungo la via Etnea e godersi il passeggio e il vivace caos cittadino è un piacere.
