I give top marks to this historic pastry shop in Balduina, and I would call it a paradise for those with a sweet tooth. I have been ordering birthday cakes here for years, always super good. Well done!!!

Having lived in the area I have always known this shop, I went back today by chance and found the quality I remembered, many beautiful cakes on display, lots of small pastries on the counter. From the receipt I noticed that it has changed its name, or at least company name, since it is now called PASTICCERIA LA MONARCA SNC by Andrea and Marco Lamonarca. Obviously I don't know how much this may have influenced the negative reviews I read but it makes you think. As for the area, it is usually very difficult to find a parking space.

Ottima. Speciali le crostate, le frappe e le castagnole, ma anche tutto il resto è di altissima qualità. Locale storico.

03/08/2025: A welcoming and very large place with a wide variety of sweet and savory baked goods. We tried the focaccia with olives and tomato, which was very soft and flavorful but not dry. We also tried the red pizzas, which were very good. I also tried the white pizza with zucchini flowers—be careful, it's addictive! I also had some small focaccias with various toppings, which I didn't particularly like because they were very soft and bland. Overall, I can easily say it's the best bakery in the area if you want to grab a slice of pizza or some cookies to go.
20/07/2025: The atmosphere and food are delicious. Not to mention the friendly sales assistants.
