This review is exclusively for the della monaca, but that's enough to deserve 5 stars. The lightest Chantilly cream enhances the slightly moist dough, while the more intense pastry cream blends perfectly. Definitely among the best I've tasted in all of Lucania (and the surrounding area). Courtesy and an elegant atmosphere complement a delightful experience here in Matera.

Each dessert is 1 euro and the cappuccino is 1.6 euros. It's completely cost-effective and delicious. If you're visiting Matera, be sure to come here!! The staff speaks good English and is very friendly! This thing that looks like conch bread with sugar on it is so delicious.
