Looking for a café to grab a coffee, I stumbled upon this pastry shop, just steps from the Stadio Comunale. As soon as we entered, my partner and I were struck by the inviting display case, displaying sweet and savory products, first and second courses, salads, and a variety of pastries, both classic and traditional Sicilian, more specifically from the province of Catania. Tempted by the rice fritter that was kindly offered to accompany my coffee, I picked up a few sweets to eat later at home. All the products looked inviting, and it was difficult to choose, perhaps because of this, we were even more disappointed when we tasted them, finding the rich fillings rather bland. Furthermore, there was a distinct aftertaste in the mouth, a vague sensation that I would describe as "salty." Prices were average; I'm still curious to try some of the specialties, like the arancini, if I ever get the chance again.
