My experience was with a simple croissant offered for a birthday. It was love at first sight, delicious, well-baked, and perfectly leavened. On a high note, I went to Ghimenti on Sunday around 11 a.m. to get some croissants and try other versions. But a very kind saleswoman told me that, alas, they were out of stock. With my tail between my legs, I left. On Monday, I woke up early for work, and at 7:45 I was standing in front of their window, confident and with a hawk's-eye view. But, CLOSED FOR WEEKLY HOLIDAY. Woe to me, I never get it right. I chose not to give up and stubbornly returned on Tuesday at 10 a.m. The usual very kind saleswoman told me that the croissants were out of stock. I was about to have a nervous tic à la Banfi in his famous '80s film, but I smiled defeatedly and left, certain that this encounter was not going to happen. I don't live nearby, so I'm giving up at this point. Whoever can, take advantage of it, but wake up at dawn and never on Mondays.

Historic neighborhood pastry shop. A guaranteed success for birthday cakes. I'd say they're more of a classic cake: not "artistic" or "innovative," but traditional. The staff is knowledgeable and experienced. Excellent.

Excellence in pastry making! I've known this place since I was little, growing up with its artisanal croissants, grandma's cakes, profiteroles, and pastries made first by Giacomo's father and then by Giacomo himself, with exactly the same mastery. The pinnacle of pastry making for me.

In a neighborhood where pastry shops now seem like cold jewelry stores, Ghimenti remains a haven of authenticity and family warmth. On March 19th, Father's Day, there was a very long line here, a sign that true quality doesn't need social media and marketing. The Mont Blanc is a masterpiece of balancing cream and meringue, the sponge cakes are literally clouds of heaven, and the baskets of strawberries and cream are addictive. Whether for a special event or a personal treat, it's the only place I go without fail. The staff is always kind, patient, and ready to rush to please everyone, even on peak days. BRAVO!

19/01/2026: Update after 3 years: A confirmation of quality and courtesy I'm pleased to review "La Baita" again, three years after my first visit, and I can only confirm my positive opinion; in fact, I've improved the overall rating! We returned yesterday to celebrate our son's second birthday, and the experience was wonderful. The place remains truly unique, an oasis immersed in nature where children (and adults) can be right next to the animals. What has changed and what remains unchanged: Food: The quality is always top-notch. I can confirm that the meat is excellent, as are the pasta dishes. The food is truly delicious. Service: Although three years ago we had some delays with the delivery times, this time everything was perfect. I want to emphasize the extreme courtesy, kindness, and care the staff showed us, making our son's birthday even more special. Atmosphere: The location remains magical for those seeking relaxation and contact with nature. Compared to my previous visit, the small logistical issues of the past (wait times and noise) were largely overcome by the attention they gave us yesterday. A favorite place in Saracinesco, where we always return with pleasure. Highly recommended!

09/08/2026: We went to Semi di Vino with my two children to experience the atmosphere and spend a couple of hours relaxing, perhaps with a good glass of wine. A bite to eat was also on the cards, but it probably wasn't the priority. Well, from this perspective, Semi di Vino is an excellent place. It's an unusual wine bar, a place to chat, perhaps even with strangers you've met by chance, and then perhaps enjoy something unusual to pair with your chosen wines. The wine selection is excellent and certainly needs to be explored by talking to the owners. Don't rely on a "wine list"—it doesn't work that way. The dishes are all "of the day," written on the classic blackboard, where the offerings change not only with the season but also with inspiration and market availability. We had two white wines: one sparkling and with a "melony" flavor, excellent as well as unusual, and an extraordinary "sauvignon blanc" style wine that was a joy to drink. The dishes were all delicious as well as unusual. Everything is definitely worth trying. A great evening, one to repeat.
