14/09/2025: I'm writing this because the person directly involved has no way to publish it...these are her words:
We've been frequenting this place for a couple of months with great pleasure. It's always been a go-to place for quality dinners and a welcoming atmosphere. The platters are truly unique, carefully crafted both in terms of composition and product quality: a true strength of the place.
Everything was going well until I discovered that, during a previous visit, if I hadn't taken a precautionary pill (due to my numerous allergies), the evening could have ended in tragedy.
I know perfectly well that dealing with a customer with allergies isn't easy, and for this very reason, it's essential to be doubly careful, especially when a specific request is made and reiterated multiple times.
I ask if a dessert offered is indeed lactose-free, it's checked (at my request), and I'm told, in a somewhat annoyed tone, that I can eat it. I eat it, and everything's fine thanks to the pill. But this isn't acceptable. This is about health. This is about life.
The most recent dinner was perfect until that moment of "discovery." I don't want to generalize, because the owner's welcome is always wonderful; Marcos serves us with kindness and a genuine smile, and Sole is always calm, precise, and helpful.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for another waiter, whose smirks while I was explaining a serious problem left me very disappointed. Maybe it's just his manner, but at that moment it seemed like a joke.
The owner, upon learning of the situation, immediately came to the table to apologize. A very appreciated gesture, as was the empathy and understanding shown by a lady at the cash register (perhaps the owner), who expressed sincere and regretful words.
It wasn't my intention not to pay, but the gesture was meaningful and I felt it was made from the heart.
I will return, but not right away. I need to let this sink in first. When I do, I'll decide whether or not to sit down based on the staff present.
The restaurant remains a place where you can eat very well, with truly high-quality food. The problem isn't the food, it's not the atmosphere, it's not the majority of the staff.
The problem was a serious mistake, one that, unfortunately, I can't turn a blind eye to.
I hope my experience serves as a starting point for greater attention in the future, because it's a truly worthy place, but when it comes to allergies... you can't afford to be careless.

10/09/2025: Beautiful experience.. I celebrated my fiftieth birthday last Saturday in Altopascio and we had a great time.. spectacular food, friendly and professional staff and Mirko truly a great leader, very kind and always available for any request even if our crew was particularly noisy 🎉🥳🎊, real party animals ☺️🫣.. Highly recommended.... In fact, we'll be back on Friday to celebrate again.. Thank you all so much.. you are spectacular 🥰. You made my birthday an unforgettable moment 🥰.. Laura
