Excellent pastries. Ricciarelli, panforte, panpepato, cavallucci, and Pan co' Santi are among the best you'll find in Siena. A wide variety of quality croissants and brioches.

Excellent pastry shop. The caramelized pastries are unique and delicious. The combination of puff pastry and Chantilly cream is very delicate. The shop isn't very big, but the staff is efficient and helpful. The price of the caramelized pastries is also not to be underestimated, as they aren't outrageous at all. This is a pastry shop worth trying.

I woke up in my small hotel room and the fog was still rising above the red roofs of Siena. I decided to have breakfast at the bakery Pasticceria Buti. I headed up the street and continued along the cobbled sidewalk all the way to the city gate. The scene was a typical Italian street: an elegantly dressed man with a small dog, and a condom dispenser right in the pharmacy. The outside air was humid and fresh when I entered the place filled with a pleasant atmosphere. Many people had come early in the morning to pick up their favorite pastries: a man in a jacket with the day’s newspaper, an older lady who apparently visited the place quite often. I ordered a cup of black coffee, two pieces of pastry packed with chocolate, and orange juice. I sat at a table with the typical box stuffed with napkins printed with the bakery’s logo, admired the view, and enjoyed the taste of the good pastry.
