Pasticceria Belluomini Dal In Lucca

Pastry shop/bar located near the center of Lucca south west of the walls. The restaurant has some seating where you can enjoy a good variety of pastry products including fabulous croissants and good coffee. The staff is friendly and the prices are low, recommended for breakfast or for a stopover.

I'm from Prato but when I come to Lucca the stop at the Belluomini pastry shop is a fixed stop!. The place is not very far from the center and in a few minutes you can reach the walls of Lucca on foot, furthermore there is also easy parking for cars as it is in a main street. The place is very well looked after both outside, where a large dehor is installed so you can sit outside, and also inside where the environment is always very clean despite the large number of customers and orders. The staff is always very kind and helpful, fast and attentive to customer needs; while a special mention goes to Filippo, a young and talented owner, always present, and ready to have a chat while waiting for your order. Finally, I could really recommend everything, from brioches to cream puffs, given the high quality of the products even if my "must" are the glazed croissants and the typical Lucchese braid which are of a superior level!. They don't do table service...but a very good breakfast anyway. Excellent brioches..

The best croissant I have eaten in Lucca (and one of the best comparing with the various places in Italy) and prices are incredibly good!!! I strongly recommend to have a breakfast or tea/coffee time in this place rather than any fancy and expensive place inside the walls. Tasty, quality products, friendly, English speaking staff and very affordable (I don’t exactly remember but I paid this pistachio croissant and cappuccino ~€3- cheaper than only coffee inside the walls in many cafés) !!
