We had lunch here and were completely satisfied. The food was very good, fresh, and delicious. The service was also excellent. The view is magnificent.

Late lunch with a sea view. The waiters were attentive and promptly seated us on the terrace overlooking the sea. I ordered vitello tonnato as a starter and ravioli with prawns as a main course. My dishes were quite simple but good, nothing extraordinary. My wife ordered the fish of the day, and one of the two strips was raw. She asked them to cook it a little longer, and they did. She accompanied it with a typical Tropea salad. When it came time to pay, we were surprised to find that they arbitrarily charged us €20 for the fish (it cost €7 per 100g). When I asked the waiter what the weight calculation was for that amount, he asked the chef, and they corrected it; in the end, it was only €16.50. A final bill of €76.50 (1 starter, 2 main courses, a salad, 2 beers; water was complimentary). Given the quality of the food, I can only conclude that you're paying for the view. Unless you're literally starving, I'd advise looking for a cheaper and tastier option. If such an option exists, that is, because so far the food at Tropea, especially the seafood, has been a major disappointment for me.
