Very popular among locals, deservedly so. Cappuccinos are way above Venice standards, and the wide selection of pastry is fresh and tasty.
However, the place is objectively understaffed, which I’m convinced may be the source of some of the recent criticisms.

Das kleine Café scheint auf Croissant spezialisiert zu sein. Die Croissants schmecken sehr gut. Schneller und freundlicher Service, ein guter Platz für ein kleines Frühstück auf dem Weg in die Biennale.

È un vero sollievo poter ancora trovare a Venezia un vero bar pasticceria, non solamente una mangiatoia per turisti. Pasticceria artigianale con molte opzioni, anche particolari, per le paste per la colazione. Ci sono dei tavolini all’esterno dove accomodarsi con tranquillità (piccioni permettendo). Molto consigliato per una tranquilla e buona colazione nella tranquilla zona Castello.

Our favorite pastry shop and coffee in Venice. We have been here twice, once in 2019 and again in 2024. We love the ambience of this place. Away from the crowds, we watched as the children went to school. We drank our Cappuccino and an Americano. The espresso is perfecto! They were perfect. The ladies that served us, were kind, quick and happy to help us make a secretion of which pastry to order.
I can't wait to go back. The prices are more than reasonable.
