It's always nice to try their desserts, but it's a shame there's not much space...

If you're looking for authentic Neapolitan pastry in Turin, this is the place.
What struck me:
The Pastiera: Simply heavenly. You can tell from a mile away that it's made with the freshest ingredients: the ricotta is creamy, the candied fruit is top-quality, and the orange blossom aroma is perfectly balanced. An incredible delicacy that took me straight back to Naples.
The Atmosphere: It's not just a pastry shop, it's a place where you feel at home. The family welcome makes the experience even sweeter.
The Staff: Rarely do you find such kind and helpful staff, capable of conveying their passion for their work with a smile.
In summary: If you pass by Piazza XVIII Dicembre, stop by Pastarel. It's a must-see for anyone who loves fine pastry made with love.

I had a cappuccino and a croissant filled with chocolate and cream at the counter. Both were delicious. The croissant had a rich filling and was reasonably priced. The staff was very cheerful and well-organized. I liked it so much that I returned the next morning, where I chose the almond croissant, which was also very tasty.

Marie Antoinette was a brilliant stratigest but in our view her fatal mistake was in forgetting, or not understanding, that while bread nourishes the body, pastry nourishes the soul. Good pastry tempts, tantalizes and entrances like the great lady herself.
Nestled under the arcades surrounding the square adjoining Porta Susa train station and Corso Bolzano bus station, this shop is definitely one of those which feeds the soul. Those of us who have fond childhood memories of patiently un-spiraling the crust of a "schwee-ah-dell" (or sfogliatella in Italian) from our highchairs, can attest to the authenticity of the version found here. One of us can also bear witness to the 'correctness' of their hated nemisis, the dreaded struffule! No comment needs to be made about the zeppole 😋 (... although it has been a while 🤔 ... perhaps several of us will have a 'gocce' or two next week ... just to be sure). Other enticing offerings are of Neapolitan or French origin and there are also some of those currently trendy nouvelle cuisine creations set to ensnare your eye as well.
One of us has admitted to succumbing to the temptation of several unusual and interesting cordials or liqueurs on a couple of rare occasions. Although in this case, it is not clear if it was at this location or the one on Corso Vittorio. Then, there are the babà au rhum.
So if any of us finds themself in need one of the three best coffees available in Turin and they're not afraid, at that moment, of being tempted, tantalized or entranced ... or if one of us feels that their spirit needs a bit of pampering ... we come here. We always have to remind ourselves that while pastry is an art form which feeds the soul, for Neapolitans flirting is also an art form ... 😹😹😹 ... and that art form can also nourish your soul. 😹 So be warned ... and enter if you dare.

Sfogliatelle ricce, the shortcrust pastry seems to be missing, but they are expensive. Turin is not as expensive as Naples, the prices should be cheaper.

I didn't like the service. When we were sitting at the table outside, the pastry arrived immediately, although they served us a croissant with cherry jam without asking if we were okay with it instead of the apricot one. For the coffees, however, we had to wait more than a quarter of an hour, seeing coffee being served to tables that arrived after us.

Neapolitan pastry shop. The pastries are truly delicious, but what struck me most was the staff. A very kind young woman served me, stopping to chat even though it was crowded, which she did with everyone. A level of customer service that you don't find everywhere, earned my first tip ever. It's those little gestures that make your day.
