Excellent dishes of the Lucca cuisine such as zuppa alla frantoiana, picconte, baccalà, we have always been there for lunch and the portions are abundant and authentic flavors at a more than honest price, also excellent desserts cakes and tiramisu! Well done, keep it up, it's the right way!!

After an initial failure of the new management I felt like changing my review for this restaurant because now after three times that we returned for lunch I have to change my mind the portions and the quality of the dishes are back to what they once were! Everything is excellent from the carbonara to the tripe to the rosticciana to the side dishes, the price as always is excellent compared to the quality and quantity of the dishes, the courteous service is quick and precise the environment is welcoming and rustic, the desserts are also excellent especially the tiramisu, very good!
The current management is excellent, the food is very good, the pasta is not overcooked, the tradition of good Tuscan-Lucca food has been maintained, cod is never missing and the baked one with leeks is exceptional, as is the fried one.
The first courses are excellent and varied, the delicious Frantoiana soup is always present, the side dishes are also varied and the care in the preparation can also be seen in the simple mixed salad where they add filange carrots and onion.
The desserts are also excellent.
The price is unbeatable.
The fixed menu €14.00 includes a wide choice of first courses, second courses, wine, water and coffee!

We returned some time after the place changed management. In all honesty, he has a long way to go to reach his commendable predecessor but this gentleman already wins in courtesy and availability! The cuisine is straightforward and without frills. Taste and authenticity of the dishes guaranteed. Excellent Frantoiana soup. The rostinciana, although only one piece but full-bodied, was well worth it (it would have been better to specify that it was not grilled but baked). There is still work to be done on the desserts and wines. Few labels and without criteria. We are waiting for him to propose steaks and mushrooms, the strong dish of the two Paolis. The road is long but it is well taken. He doesn't have to imitate but if he changes his approach and reduces the dishes and quantities... he has little hope. Anyway good.

Typical Lucchese trattoria, traditional dishes, excellent service and availability. Nice and friendly employees and owners, generous portions.
The house wine could be improved, but for the price of a business lunch it is still good.
