We came to this restaurant for dinner based on the reviews, since we were in Rome to experience its cuisine and see its most special monuments. We decided to have our last dinner in the city here and try their famous pasta carbonara. We arrived around 8:40 pm, and they were fully booked, but the waiter kindly offered us a table if we waited 10 minutes. We finally sat down and ordered the charcuterie and cheese board (a house special), which was delicious. My husband ordered oxtail, and I ordered the pasta carbonara. I was really excited to try the pasta. When my dish arrived, it looked spectacular, although I noticed something odd... Pepper? It looked like way too much pepper... Anyway, I tasted it, and I knew right away it wasn't going to be good. I prefer mild spice, but this was inedible. I tried a second time, but it was no good. The pepper completely overpowered the flavor of the pasta. My husband tried it, and it was awful too. I asked the waiter if it was normal for it to have so much pepper, as it was too spicy to eat, and he said yes, carbonara has a lot of pepper. Well, I had no idea; he was supposed to be the expert. He offered me another pasta dish if I wanted, but I wanted carbonara, so I said no, we'd leave it as is. In the end, my husband ate it mixed with the oxtail (it was delicious, I have to admit) because the pasta on its own was impossible.
I suppose he realized I couldn't eat it, because he brought us two glasses of cava, saying they were on him. Afterward, we ordered tiramisu, which was also very good. He offered us a shot of limoncello, which was also delicious. But I can't help feeling disappointed and a little cheated, because as we were leaving, I saw two plates of carbonara on the table behind us without a single peppercorn. Did they see us as tourists? Were they trying to rip us off? I think that if you realize you've overdone it with the pepper, you take the dish away, apologize, and offer the same dish corrected and without pepper... But they only offered me a choice of other pasta and insisted that carbonara is very spicy and has a lot of pepper. I went home with a bad taste in my mouth. I had gone to Rome to try its typical dishes and I left very disappointed with this experience. It's a shame because I'm always very objective and very grateful in my reviews. We went with high expectations and excitement, but in the end, it turned out like this. Afterward, I spoke with friends and acquaintances, even people on the plane, asking if carbonara was like that, and they all gave me the same answer: Spicy????? Pepper????? So I guess they were ripping me off... I hope you take my comment as a learning experience and don't repeat the experience of other tourists who place all their trust in them and receive such a bad experience.

Intrigued by the positive reviews, we decided to try it and were very pleased, both with the kind and friendly staff and the excellent food.

This isn't your typical osteria. The place is recently renovated, very modern, and clean. The staff is very kind and friendly. The unique food is very good. They've given Roman dishes an impeccable reinterpretation. The tonnarelli cacio e pepe with fig compote is a real treat. The desserts are delicious. The price is also fair.

We were in Tuscolana, we were hungry, so we decided to go into this osteria on impulse, and we were completely right! Everything was excellent. I recommend the pasta with broccoli and sausage, which was really delicious. The dishes were very generous. The place was very clean, welcoming, and the staff were friendly. The girl who served us, Ilaria, was very kind, offering advice and listening to and accommodating our requests. The chef even came out at the end and said hello! I highly recommend it. 5 stars.

Parking is available with a garage next door, so no problems. Excellent service, truly excellent first courses, such as amatriciana and gnocchi cacio e pepe.
