I was passing by on Via di Valle Melania and entered this bakery, drawn by the small but well-stocked display of sweets and pastries. I discovered the Campanian "fiocco di neve" (snowflake) for the first time in Rome. I also ordered a couple of sfogliatelle with shortcrust pastry and two fruit pastries! I made a great impression. The bread is excellent; whenever I get the chance, I pop in for some ciabatta or a loaf of durum wheat. The desserts are also excellent.

I was truly impressed by this neighborhood bakery, which truly exudes authenticity! The place is small, and there's often a line outside during peak hours, which piqued my interest as a sign of quality, but also discouraged me from waiting (in this, alas, always hectic life)!! Yesterday I stopped by by chance on my way back from a trip to pick up some bread, and I was shocked by the amount of delicious things already prepared!! They don't just make bread, but appetizers, first courses, second courses, side dishes, desserts... I would have grabbed some bread and tuna from the pantry at home, but instead I came back with bread, milk, and my haul of gratinated squid and grilled vegetables! All at truly reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly, although I imagine they were a little stressed by the heat and the large crowd. I'll be back more often!!
