Our boat captain said this is the only place on Burano to get essi cookies. My son and I tried the chocolate variety and we're not disappointed. They were not overly sweet and very soft. Only €2.50 each, definitely worth it!

We wanted to try out the hype surrounding this pastry. We were rather disappointed: dry and too sweet. But that depends on individual tastes! It's still worth trying, as it's a specialty, but the price seems excessive: €4.50 for the famous pistachio studdel.
