This bakery represents the history of the city of Matera. I've personally had the opportunity to try numerous types of focaccia barese, which has its roots in the Bari Vecchia district. I can rightfully say that Paoluccio surpasses, albeit just barely, even the famous bakeries of Bari. The location of the business makes it easy to stroll among the wonders of the capital of rural civilization, with a fragrant piece of focaccia in hand. We highly recommend tasting the authentic Pane di Matera, an ancient product that is very different from the more commercialized Pane di Altamura PGI.
A shout-out to those who continue the traditions.

Good focaccia and other good food in the center of Matera. The shop is very small and has only a few outdoor chairs, making it more suitable for takeout. Prices are in line with the offerings.

The foccacia saved our lives. The one with zucchini and the one with tomatoes were delicious. We also tried the sweet rolls, also very tasty. I recommend them. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

We bought two quarters of focaccia, one with potatoes and the other with zucchini. They were large, thin-crust, and crispy. Plenty of olive oil and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, they were cold, but delicious. We paid €7.40 for the two quarters, which is not a small price. The city center justifies it. Overall, it's worth a visit.

Da Paoluccio's bakery is a must-visit for delicious focaccia in the city center. They've recently added tables, and when you're nearby, it's impossible not to smell the delicious focaccia. The staff is friendly, and the prices are average.

I recommend arriving early in the morning to smell the freshly baked bread. The focaccia is a must-try because it's so soft, and it's constantly being baked throughout the morning. The owners are kind and eager to make you feel at home.
Gooooooo!
