The staff is mostly rude and unwelcoming, but the bakery's offerings are out of this world. I've been coming here for more than 10 years to get bread and focaccia and have breakfast.

In Piazza Colombo in Sanremo, you'll find the De Mattei bakery. You'll find a wide selection of quality breads and leavened products. You can also have breakfast in the outdoor area, choosing from a variety of sweets. Fantastic.

Everything is very tasty. Unfortunately, we went before closing time and the lady at the counter didn't want us in the middle of her back, so she wasn't very friendly.

Excellent bar-bakery. Always fresh brioches (in the morning), torte salade, focaccia, excellent bread. Coffee also matches the quality of everything else. The staff is polite and professional. The prices are quite affordable, you can have a normal lunch and pay as in a bar for a regular breakfast with a croissant and coffee.

I always have breakfast here when I come to Sanremo. Definitely the best croissants/cakes around. Excellent service and, I'd say, reasonably priced considering the quality of the products.

19/11/2025: My wife and I came here for an aperitif. The Ligurian-style Spritz was absolutely delicious – highly recommended. They immediately serve snacks and finger food with your drink. Absolutely top-notch – this is what hospitality should be! You can tell the owners love what they do. Great value for money. A must-visit when in Imperia!

24/05/2026: A very warm welcome, good food, super friendly service, and a truly unique location...right on the pebble beach...beautiful spot...prices displayed on the chalkboard and reasonable; we don't understand the negative reviews that have been left. In short, we loved it and we'll be back!
