For my second trip to Cagliari, I wanted to try a traditional restaurant, and Pani e Casu more than met my expectations. The restaurant is located in the Castello neighborhood, offering a stunning view. The menu is traditional, with simple, rustic dishes reminiscent of a trattoria, home-cooked fare that warms the heart and fills the stomach. I sampled the selection of cheeses (the house cream cheese was exceptional) and then had the opportunity to try both culurgiones and trofie with wild boar, all washed down with an excellent Cannonau. To finish, seada and traditional dry biscuits. What can I say, I'd gladly return!

Very good traditional food. The portions were really decent at a reasonable price. The mix of appetizers really surprised us. And at the end, the lady suggested something good for digestion :)

Beautiful place and really good food at reasonable prices. Too bad the kitchen closed at 10:00 PM. It seemed like they couldn't wait to send us away.

Pani e Casu Restaurant is a welcoming and quaint place, perfect for those who want to discover the flavors of Sardinian tradition. The menu focuses on authentic dishes prepared with local ingredients and well-balanced flavors, often featuring traditional ingredients such as cheeses and traditional bread. The dishes are carefully prepared without being overly elaborate, and the portions are generous.
The atmosphere is simple and pleasant, with friendly and attentive service. Prices are in line with the quality of the ingredients and preparation. An ideal destination for those seeking a genuine and flavorful dinner in the heart of Cagliari.

I enjoyed the horse meat and seadas. The other diners had suckling pig. The temperature inside the restaurant was perhaps too warm.

My partner and I had lunch on a beautiful sunny day, and we were able to eat outside.
Fantastic location and friendly staff.
Let's move on to the food:
Finally, a place where you can eat like you're at home and truly feel at home.
We shared a portion of mixed antipasti, which included cured meats (prosciutto, coppa, and sausage), cheeses (pecorino, ricotta, and spreadable cheese), broad beans, caponata-style eggplant, and a chickpea salad...a generous portion to share.
Then my partner had a portion of artichoke ravioli, and I had goat stew with saffron...all delicious.
All accompanied by water and a glass of wine.
The price was very fair, as we paid €55.
The only small flaw was that the bread served wasn't very good and didn't seem to be made that day.
In any case, they fully deserve 5 stars.
