I stopped by Panella in Rome and decided to treat myself to a sweet treat: I ordered a croissant with cream and pistachio cream. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was a true delight! The fragrant pastry, the fresh cream, and the rich, velvety pistachio cream paired perfectly. The flavor was balanced, not cloying, but full and enveloping. The place has a historic atmosphere that immerses you in Roman tradition, and the service was courteous and fast. This place was close to our hotel and I’m sad we only discovered it on our last day! Great cannolo and coffee, lots of different food options and a reasonable price !

Exceptional breakfast! Cappuccino with maritozzo (a type of pastry filled with cream) is a must for us Romans and a must for anyone visiting Rome. The little glass of beaten egg to add to the cappuccino instead of sugar was very much appreciated. We had breakfast in the very pleasant outdoor area. A little traffic made a little noise, but it wasn't particularly bothersome (though it was August 21st, when traffic was light). The price isn't cheap (€30 for two cappuccinos, two juices, a maritozzo (a pastry filled with cream), and a ricotta and sour cherry tartlet), but the quality of the food is excellent.

Pasé por un aperitivo tarde antes de regresar a nuestro hotel. El menú de la noche era limitado, pero nos las arreglamos para tomar bebidas, pizza y algunas tartas de fruta para el postre, todo era bueno. En resumen, disfrutamos de nuestro tiempo aquí. PS, nuestros camareros Mamá vive en Alberta, genial!

The moment you walk in, the place radiates warmth and personality — the kind that only comes from real passion. I had a glass of vino bianco, crisp and refreshing, the perfect opening act. Then came the pasta… First, a cacio e pepe that was silky, peppery perfection — no fuss, just flavour done right. Then, a carbonara that could convert even the most stubborn skeptics. Rich, comforting, and authentically Roman. The owner is an absolute standout — welcoming, funny, and clearly takes immense pride in every dish. Al19 isn’t just a meal — it’s a Roman experience. One I’d go back for in a heartbeat.
