Paje' In Maruggio

I travel 80 km... to reach this enchanting place... free, accessible, heavenly... spectacularly clear water... always in any weather. Even on Saturdays and Sundays, despite the crowds, the water is delightfully fabulous! Years ago, it was an oasis of peace... now TOO many people know about it.

I went to Piri Piri Acqua Dolce today. The food was decent, with no particular distinguishing features: you can eat, but it's not a place that left a lasting impression on me. The prices are also fairly average. The real negative, however, concerns the service. I can't comment on the other waiters because I didn't have the opportunity to interact with them, but the person who appeared to be the owner or manager was decidedly unfriendly. I found him rude, hasty, and not at all attentive to customers. I believe courtesy is a fundamental element in a restaurant, and unfortunately, in this case, it was the thing that struck me most. Overall, an average experience as far as the food is concerned, but the manager's behavior makes me doubt I'll return.

A seafront terrace with a sweeping view, free parking, and a basic menu for both food and wine, I still had a good dinner. Perhaps busier at lunchtime. I'd suggest paying more attention to the restrooms.

The beach is well-kept. But the restaurant area is expensive. I paid 14 euros for a fried dish, 4 prawns, and 8 squid rings (frozen), and I ate it outside the beach, otherwise I would have had to pay for the service charge.

PiriPiri Beach is located in the Maruggio area, a municipality surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, near the town of Torre dell'Ovo, just beyond a picturesque promontory. It is a beautiful beach of soft golden sand nestled beneath a 10-meter sandstone cliff, characterized by a beautiful shoreline almost a kilometer long, interrupted occasionally by low rocks and cliffs. The beach has a certain wild charm and is completely public for long stretches. The sea is beautiful, transparent and crystalline, with a sandy, gently sloping seabed, ideal for swimming and bathing.

Piri Piri is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. The well-maintained beach club has a quiet atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We appreciated the organization, cleanliness, and the opportunity to stop for a delicious meal without leaving the beach. A simple, welcoming, and unfussy atmosphere where you immediately feel like you're on vacation. We'll definitely be back!
