2025: I returned after 3 years, and it is even better now! The best food in Rome. 2022: The service is kind and of the utmost quality, to say nothing of the food, which is varied, rich in flavor and all-around delicious. One of the best experiences I've had eating in an italian city.

I found this restraint here in google maps and I am so grateful for the comments, it is a great place to try if you’re tired of all the insta popular places with waiting lines or typical Italian restaurants. Here you will feel like you are a guest in an Italian house, a family owned restaurant with home made food. It usually includes pasta, lentils, salad, bread, olive oil, slow cooked meat, some more food that I forgot and for a dessert the most incredible lemon pie I have ever tried, and the last but not least the wine is very delicious. There are not many tables, so make a reservation right here in google maps and you will have a quiet delicious evening in the center of Rome with home made food.

At Trattoria Der Pallaro, you feel at home, exquisite and home-made cuisine like grandma's, a single, abundant menu and good value for money, in a peaceful corner despite the central and tourist area. The service is attentive and authentic, you can feel the owner's strong desire to give a warm welcome to his customers and also to raise a few smiles. Next to us, there was an American family who returned to Rome with their children after twenty years from the first time, they returned to eat right here, how much poetry in simplicity.

I visited after watching YouTuber Im Seong-il's video, and the son who took over his mother's business welcomed me by showing me a picture he took with Im Seong-il. I was able to taste Italian home cooking as a course meal, and my taste buds, which were a bit shocked after eating carbonara at another restaurant, were healed here^^ I was so full after eating all the food that came out as a course meal that I skipped dinner that day^^

Trattoria Romana, just the way we want it! Tasty, family-style cuisine. There's no menu, they serve the daily special. The table next to us was a family whose parents had come here 20 years ago and returned with their children. A place that fills you with happiness with its uniqueness, simplicity, and flavors! You will have the most authentic Italian meal at this restaurant. Highly recommended if you want to try non-tourist authentic home cooked Italian food. Highly recommended. I come here every time I come to Rome!

The waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. But I guess we don't really like Roman food. We went knowing that it was a place that served Roman home-style meals as a course meal, and when we were shown to our seats, they didn't give us a menu but asked us what we wanted to drink. It was 35 euros per person for water + wine (red or white) + course meal. Appetizer (5 points) Mozzarella cheese, tomato + olive oil + basil, soufflé, prosciutto?, chickpea dish The appetizer was very satisfying. I thought this was a Roman home-style appetizer. 1st main (3 points) Carbonara? + tomato pasta half and half I liked that it wasn't salty. The ones I've had at other places were too salty and rich. But the taste was a little weak. I think the waiter knew we were Korean and made the seasoning a little weaker. 2nd Main (2 points) Grilled pork loin?, pickled lettuce in vinegar?, French fries Salty.. and the grilled pork loin was too dry for us. The pickled lettuce in vinegar had a strong vinegar taste and my wife didn't like it because it smelled like fish sauce. When eating the grilled pork loin, the waiter said that it would taste better if I added more sauce and poured more sauce on the meat in my bowl. It was already salty enough... The French fries were soggy. Dessert (4 points) Juice, cheesecake It's hard for this to not taste good. We ate at an outdoor table and the atmosphere was really nice. It was the middle of June and the sun was shining outside, but the sunshade blocked the sun well and the breeze was blowing so it was cool. The waiter was really kind. He took a picture for me even though I didn't ask for it. And when I was going to the bathroom, the guide said he was his friend and showed me a picture we took together. The Italians at the back table were paying first, but the waiter seemed to insist on paying in cash. We didn't have any cash, so we went to an ATM and got some money, so he asked us where the nearest ATM was. When we did, he said it was okay for Koreans and that we could pay by card. Hehe.. Then we went inside to pay by card (it seemed like he called us inside on purpose), and the other Korean mother and daughter on the way there looked gloomy.

I hadn't been back in 14 years, and... No. Life goes on as usual.

The food is delicious, there are a few different home made flavors, you should try it. If you are looking for a different flavor than the standard Roman pizza and pasta, I recommend it. We tried their home made wine, 1 Lt 12€ price is very good but you can find it 1-2 levels below your expectations but it is reasonable for this price. By the way, try the garlic eggplant from the starters.
