Occasionally in life you have the good fortune of experiencing something amazing- our dinning experience at Otto Geleng at Hotel Timeo was one of these experiences - simply stunning!
My wife and I decided to have drinks in the cocktail bar prior this is the start of the jaw dropping views - beautifully manicured gardens are at the forefront whilst Mount Etna provides a magnificent backdrop. After enjoying a few magical drinks we were guided to the dinning area of Otto Geleng. We were there to celebrate my birthday and seriously the view that greeted us was the best present. The joy of the evening kept on giving - the staff, the food, wine and of course the view will be something that will be remembered for years to come.
Thank you to all at Hotel Timeo and if by chance you are ever in Taormina do yourself a favour and get along to Otto Geleng to experience a truly magical dinning experience.
We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary since we were staying at the hotel and the setting was beautiful and romantic. When we made the reservation, we told them we were celebrating our anniversary and our children surprised us by ordering champagne through the restaurant. The food was very good, although we have had better food at other Michelin restaurants. The setting was magnificent and the service was good. We enjoyed the experience but were very disappointed that no one in the restaurant did anything to make the evening special for us. We noticed that the woman at the table next to us was celebrating her birthday and they brought out a special dessert with Happy Birthday written on it and a candle. We did not get anything special! It was very surprising to us since they knew it was a special anniversary. Also, they sent a questionnaire to fill out about the experience, and I mentioned that and still got no response! It would not have taken much to make the evening special for us. There are other Michelin restaurants we will try next time.
