Small but very welcoming. The owner explained the dishes to us with great care, especially the desserts. Everything was truly excellent, even the house wine🎉

Luckily, in Vicenza's beautiful historic center, there's this small, quaint restaurant that defies standardization by offering some of the most iconic traditional dishes, in addition to the beloved cicchetti. All accompanied by a thoughtful selection of wines. I later learned that this place is not just about tradition, but also about inclusiveness—the real kind, not the kind just for publicity. Go there, it's like visiting a friend's house.

The atmosphere is intimate and familiar. The owner, with passion and expertise, leads guests on a culinary journey of duck-filled bigoli, three variations of cod, and steaming polenta. Service is attentive and friendly. Portions are generous. Prices are fair for authentic cuisine. The scopettone (salacca), a lost flavor, is a must-try. Reservations are essential, as space is limited.

I was delighted to have lunch with my partner at this charming osteria. The food was truly delicious, with mouth-watering home cooking (we had the meatballs and cuttlefish alla busara). The spunciotti were also delicious (the fried cod was excellent). The Amaro Vacca Mora and the house Traminer wine are also recommended. An honorable mention goes to the owners, Walter and Chiara, for their profound sensitivity to disability and their commitment to inclusiveness for all, including in the workplace. L'Osteria Vicolo Santa Barbara, situata in pieno centro a Vicenza, conserva lo spirito autentico delle osterie di una volta. I proprietari sono persone gentili, pronte a raccontare con passione e preparazione i piatti del menù, tutti appartenenti alla tradizione veneta e vicentina. Abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato il baccalà alla vicentina e l'ampia scelta di dolci della tradizione. Grande attenzione a ingredienti del territorio, con un buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Al termine del pasto, nonostante avessimo già oltrepassato l'orario di chiusura, i proprietari ci hanno aspettato e si sono fermati a parlare con noi con grande simpatia. Assolutamente consigliato!
