I gave full marks for
1) food
2) service
3) environment
and below I explain why.
1)Regarding food, although taste often has a subjective variable, I was really happy, after several years of research in restaurants, to receive a plate of abundant and excellent quality mutton. Not everywhere do I find a side dish of raw vegetables and in this restaurant it is guaranteed. Not everywhere a tasting is offered for customers, in this case fried polenta with caciuffi, welcome, that gesture of courtesy that allows customers to feel welcomed. I tasted a well-executed trio of polenta starter with mushrooms, which is not found as an option in other places.
2) Regarding the service: a boy, I think from what I know he is the son of the owner(s), I don't know. He was kind, polite, precise and dedicated to his work. He always asked us how dinner was going. Personally, I had the impression that customer care (which for some could be a question of technical details and instead for me is a care of emotional details) was well carried out and I felt at ease.
3) Simple but lived-in, not luxurious but exuding a story. Always a matter of taste. I liked it a lot.

The best tavern in the entire province of Ferrara
The menu changes continuously and always features a few but excellent dishes
It is always a guarantee of quality and particular combinations.
I recommend it to everyone and when I want to make a good impression, paying the right amount and eating excellently I have my point of reference.

We had wanted to go to this ancient tavern for a long time, the manager said it was opened by our great-grandfather in 1903, we ate very well, in a warm and welcoming environment, excellent service and of course the dishes were also very good.

Experience not to be repeated... Not even service, something excellent, something else that I wouldn't even give to a dog. A cut with an aftertaste and cooking only to be thrown away. Side dishes that arrive with the second courses finished for some and others first....
In my opinion you can move on if you go from there

Siamo venuti spesso qui sia a pranzo che a cena e devo dire che rimane una garanzia in fatto di qualità e bontà del cibo e cortesia, gentilezza e professionalità di tutto il personale. Ottima qualità degli affettati, ben fatti i puntini, battuta di fassona eccellente, e sicuramente un punto in più ai cappellacci di zucca che sono inarrivabili. L’unico appunto che posso fare è che nel tempo abbiamo notato un sensibile aumento dei prezzi, più che giustificato visto l’innegabile aumento dei costi delle materie prima e delle spese della conduzione del locale, ma con una contemporanea ed importante diminuzione delle quantità. Non mi permetto di giudicare in quanto non sono un ristoratore, ma in genere per “starci” dentro o si aumentano i prezzi o si diminuiscono le quantità: fare entrambe le cose nello stesso momento può essere una cosa che non aiuta a fidelizzare un cliente. Comunque torneremo sicuramente.
