Classic trattoria in the center of a village/farmhouse

Trattoria San Giulio is a little gem in the village. I tried the ravioli del plin and a local roast beef: dishes cooked with passion, with authentic and intense flavors. The warm, rustic atmosphere invites you to linger and savor each course at your leisure. The staff is welcoming and happy to recommend local wines to pair with your dishes.

We're at the Badia di Dulzago, an ancient rural abbey north of Cameri. The osteria is located within this complex and offers good Piedmontese cuisine. Typical grandmother's cooking in a historic, family-friendly setting. We had a Badia appetizer, which is already a dinner in itself, with Duja salami, various cold cuts, a savory pie, spring onions, beans, and an excellent chicken and celery salad...all good-quality ingredients. Next up was Paniscia, rice with vegetables, and soffritto di lardo...really good. I was more perplexed by the leek flan, which tasted more like an omelette...we drank some Nebbiolo and Gattinara, which could have been better preserved. In any case, a good experience with solid and, overall, well-executed cuisine. Generous portions.

In the Bellinzago Novarese countryside, this place takes you back to a time when everything was simpler. A rural courtyard complete with a small church and this osteria where you can eat well and at great prices. The staff is friendly and helpful. The host knows his job, and the food is quick (25 minutes for the paniscia). 👍 Recommended. P.S. At the table next to us, they had an aperitif dinner—so good. 😮

Local, high-quality products, a wide selection of wines from Piedmontese wineries, from the most affordable to the most refined, all strictly produced in Piedmont.
