Truly authentic flavors in an osteria in the heart of the Parma mountains.
Torta fritta and quality cured meats.
First course: Bomba di riso made with thinly sliced tongue, a dish I've never tasted before and yet authentic.
Boiled cotechino and tongue.
Freshly made zabaglione from days gone by with sbrisolona.
Stone-style interior with a cast-iron stove that makes you feel right at home.

Excellent food. But if you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. Take your time and savor the delicious dishes coming out of the kitchen. Listen to the staff's valuable recommendations, too. Prices aren't exactly those of a tavern, but you pay for quality.

A lovely osteria with a panoramic view, not the easiest to get to.
The appetizers and first courses are excellent but poor for the price. For the second course, we had the suckling pig, which was decent. The service was friendly and helpful.

Very nice place outside Parma. Good service. Good food, but small portions and slightly high prices.

In Selva Castello, in the municipality of Terenzo, lies this old osteria overlooking the Taro Valley. In summer, you can dine al fresco with a stunning view. We started with a plate of cooked pancetta and a plate of raw shoulder ham, accompanied by a tempting torta fritta and a sweet giardiniera, followed by some rich and delicious potato ravioli with snails, a decidedly rustic dish yet of the highest quality. We drank a very good natural wine. Excellent service and a good value... sure... it's not the easiest thing to get to from Parma, but it's worth the trip.
